West Suffolk Hospital staff member runs to reflect
As head of PMO (Programme Management Office) at West Suffolk Hosital, John felt that, as we all start to get vaccinated and life begins to return to normal, it was a good opportunity to stop and think about what has been and what is to come. To do this John has teamed up with his local hospital charity as together we hope to mark this time for reflection.
As John said, "We may have lost dear colleagues or faced situations we could never have imagined (like home schooling 4 children for a year and trying to work!) but the time is coming to pick up the baton and to move forward together."
We too, at My WiSH Charity, want to mark this year and remember those we have sadly lost, those who have survived but still face challenges today and those who have helped us to get through some of the hardest times of our lives. With that in mind we will be launching our Beacon of Light challenge in the next few weeks and we hope lots of you will join us as we take time to reflect on what has been and to shine a light forward to the future.
John will be running 10k each day for a week, starting on Easter Monday. This equates to 49 miles so, to round it up, John will run a final mile to 'pass the baton' to the charity as the Beacon of Light challenge commences. Keep following My WiSH Charity on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to find out more and to sign up.
John went on to say that he thanked Kevin Sinfield and Frank Rothwell for their inspiration. John said, "Two Oldhamer’s going about their business making millions for MND and Dementia charities. I am aiming to raise £500 by 2nd May if possible and you can also donate directly to the My Wish Charity at West Suffolk Hospital."
Thank you John for your support. Good luck.
