100k on a bicycle and all in the name of charity!
That’s the mammoth challenge Norman Davis has just taken on to raise money for My WiSH Charity, aimed at the cancer centre following the treatment of his son.
Norman is no stranger to exercise but said he found the Crafted Classique cycle event “challenging”. The cycle ride took place on Saturday 15 September and started and finished at the Waterfront in Ipswich.
Norman has raised more than £3,100 for the cancer unit and said “My son is being treated in the Oncology department at West Suffolk Hospital for a rare type of cancer. I wanted to raise funds for the cancer centre at West Suffolk Hospital. He has twin girls under the age of 3. The family, are all fighting this with him and I wanted to raise as much money for My WiSH Charity as I could.
My target was £1,000 and to get over £3,000 is just amazing. The charity is so worthwhile and the staff that are treating my son, I can’t thank enough.”
Amy Hatch, fundraising officer said; “Norman has been a pleasure to work alongside. He hasn’t had it easy over the past few months but he has never given up hope. We are so proud of his achievements; he has become part of our fundraising family.”
