Busking for My WiSH Charity
The melodic tones of James Whitelaw have been ringing out in Bury St Edmunds as he aims to raise money for a cause close to his heart.
The 39-year-old, who lives in The Street, in Wyverstone, has been busking outside The Nutshell pub in Bury, and has also gigged at The Beehive, in Horringer.
So far he has raised over £250 which is targeted at the My WiSH charity which supports the West Suffolk Hospital.
The money is set to go to the hepatology department which has been treating James.
Over the past year he has been suffering from a debilitating liver disease, problems with his diet plus osteoporosis which has caused him to put a halt to his business in construction.
But he said he is now on the road to recovery and hopes to get back to work in the next few weeks.
“I just wanted to do something to pay back the hospital for the wonderful treatment that I have received from the hepatology department to radiology to the dieticians which have all been second to none,” he said.
“They worked out what was wrong with me and got on top of it. The after care has been fantastic.”
