Youngsters unite to support two different departments at hospital
Kind-hearted youngsters have been praised after organising a fundraising event to say thank you to staff at West Suffolk Hospital.
The Jull and Applin children organised fundraising games at the recent Beyton summer fair to raise money for the My WiSH Charity which supports the hospital.
Daisy Jull, 11, Barney Jull, 9, Charlotte Applin, 9, Lucie Jull, 8, Hazel Applin, 7, and William Applin, 5, joined forces to organise a ‘name the bear’ game as well as making and selling loom bands to aid their fundraising.
Parents Richard Applin and Melissa Jull said they were very proud of their six children who raised £60.
Sue Smith, fundraising manager for My WiSH Charity, said: “We are always very humbled by anyone who wants to support the charity and the hospital. But when they vary between the age of five years old and 11, then it is extra special.”
The youngsters decided to support the hospital in memory of Sarah Applin who passed away at the hospital in 2011.
The money raised will be split between the intensive care unit and the neonatal unit.
