Flagship fundraiser aims to be a Knockout success

Whether team-building or joining up with family and friends, there is still time for teams to sign up for this year's It's a Bury Knockout and raise vital funds for West Suffolk Hospital.

Now in its third year, the hospital's flagship fundraiser will be returning to Hardwick Heath on Sunday 13th July.

The charity has been left delighted by the level of support from teams, stallholders and supporters as they bid to make this Knockout the biggest and best yet.

But there is still time to be part of the fun day which also includes fairground rides, a climbing wall and a simulator ride ensuring there is something for all the family.

The event will again be sponsored by Bury St Edmunds-based Taylor Engall with support from Bury Round Table and the Bury St Edmunds District Scouts and Explorers.

Dave Gooderham, fundraising manager at the hospital, said: "To be able to count on the support of some wonderful businesses and local organisations is great.

"Their generosity adds to the community and family feel of the day. And there is still time for teams to sign up for the Knockout.

"It is a great form of team-building for businesses or setting up a team with family and friends. Either way, you are helping to raise vital funds to further enhance the care and support we offer in your hospital."

The teams of 10 to 12 people will tackle a series of exciting obstacles and games while raising vital charity funds at the same time. Anyone who wants to sign up will need to raise a minimum of £500 sponsorship to take part, with a special prize going to the team which raises the most.

Paul Taylor, of Taylor Engall, said: "We are delighted to be the main sponsor of It's a Bury Knockout 2014. Last year's event was a great success and brilliant to be part of, and this year promises to be even better."
