World War 1 trail
We are excited to announce the launch of the My WiSH Charity World War 1 Trail in conjunction with Our Bury St Edmunds. The trail is part of The Every Heart Matters £500,000 appeal which will fund a diagnostic unit which will complete the state of the art cardiac suite being built at the West Suffolk Hospital.
West Suffolk Foundation Trust has invested £5.2million in developing a cardiac suite to transform and improve the care our cardiology patients receive. This centre will enable patients to undergo procedures not yet currently available at the hospital, and allow a new diagnostic unit to join the centre, therefore being able to provide patients with a fully integrated service. With close to 15,000 diagnostic tests being performed each year, around 450 of those being on children, this centre really can’t come soon enough.
The trail will consist of 18 pieces commissioned by local artists and sculptors. These spectacular art pieces will be displayed all around the town highlighting the Great War to commemorate 100 years since the war ended. They will be on show from July 21, through to Armistice Day, on November 11.
We are extremely thankful to Treatt, the leading sponsors for the trail and Daemmon Reeve, group CEO, said; ‘It’s fantastic to be able to support this ambitious and exciting project which remembers the bravery of those who fought in World War One and is also helping to raise the £500,000 needed to fund the new cardiac centre at the hospital.’
We couldn't have achieved this project without all our wonderful artists and also all our generous sponsors. Please click on the two links to find out who has helped us create this great trail.
