Our first big appeal raised an incredible £65,000. Started in 2013 the aim was to raise £55,000 to enable us to purchase a special scanner which would help staff detect prostate cancer.
The Bury Free Press joined forces with us and provided invaluable promation and awareness to help us reach our target.
The money was raised through generous donations, including £10,000 from St Edmunds Wheel, a treasure trail thanks to Frames, Conservatories Direct, plus a Movember challenge, It's a Bury Knockout 2013 and even an electronic pig race! The local community really got behind us.
One of the most important outcomes of this campaign was awareness amongst the men in West Suffolk with the Bury Free Press hearing from several who had visited the hospital to be checked out on the back of the Beat It Campaign.
Thank you to all who supported our Beat It Campaign to make it a success.
